A Legacy in the Making: An Adventurous Carmel Announcement
Time to start writing your legacy. For the Priest family, that chapter brought them to Carmel-by-the-Sea during the excitement of the International Marathon. But they weren't just there for the race; they were there to document a wonderful new announcement: they are expecting a baby by the end of this year!
We timed the session perfectly to catch the rare "purple carpet" of ice plant that blankets the Carmel coast just once a year. The Bay showed off its magical charm with soft, overcast skies and a vibrant floral display lining the pathways. We focused on large landscape portraits first, documenting the raw beauty of the Carmel coastline to ground this specific moment in time.
Every great story has a bit of drama, and for this session, it was the sonogram. In the rush of travel, it was nearly left behind at home! They realized as they got to the car, dashed back inside, and thankfully retrieved the most important prop of the day. At 11 weeks along, that tiny image represents the start of a massive adventure.
This baby is already a true jet-setter. From watching sea otters play in the kelp forests to exploring four different coastal locations in one afternoon, it’s clear the parents' adventurous spirit is being passed down early.
Though the gender remains a surprise for now, the excitement is palpable. This session wasn't just about photos; it was about encapsulating the joy, the travel, and the anticipation of the little one they can’t wait to meet.
